Planets positions relative to the Earth
There are wbe sites that use software to show where the planets currently are in relation to the Sun. They are often called Orreries although this term really maens a mechanical device.
I am including screen shots here to help you if you want to try my model our for yourself. Please let us know on the forum how you get on!
I suggest you try and select dates when there have been Sun Spots as a starting point. Even the present time (September 2009) is not a bad place to start has there has been low solar activity.
